My colleagues are concerned about the quality of the BC online bookstore. They started a monkeysurvey, but it is restricted to faculties.
I would like to get your input/feedback about a couple of issues:
Is it easy to find the editions required by the professors?
Is it easy to know if your order has been received?
What about prices? Can you find books cheaper elsewhere?

It is easy to find the books needed since it is linked with the school and the books were on my blackboard homepage. It is not easy to know if my orders have been received on their site because there are no tracking numbers available or any possible information to let me know where my order is. The prices are fine, very low but the shipping is expensive is the aspect that the site charges you shipping for each independent book. Also, I have not received 2 books that I ordered about two weeks ago. When I call customer service, twice now, I am put on hold for a long time and then I get an automated message about them calling me back right before the machine hangs up. I would like someone to help me get a response from them.
ReplyDeleteI do think it is easy to find the editions required by the professor. The books needed are posted on blackboard as well as indicated by cunyfirst for you to purchase.I personally have never purchased books from cunyfirst therefore I do not know what indicates that your ordered has been received. However I am aware of email receipt options. I usually buy books from elsewhere like amazon and/or book stores. It is more convenient to buy books from book stores than online for me personally. I find it more convenient to dodge the shipping fees which are usually a little less than the actual purchase.
ReplyDeleteI used the book store for the first time this semester for this class. Shipping fees generally make it slightly more expensive than Amazon. Otherwise it's pretty convenient, I had no problems. Books arrived on time and it was easy to get the right editions. Although one of our required books wasn't listed on the book store as part of this years required text.
ReplyDeleteIt is easy to find the editions of the book that your professors require you to buy since it is on the Brooklyn College bookstore and it notifies you which books you need. They notify you when you get your book via email and give you a tracking number so you know when your book arrives. There are time where I feel like you can that edition of the book you need elsewhere for a lower price, whether it is for a rent or full purchase. I have not had any problems ordering from the BC bookstore.
ReplyDeleteIt is easy to find the edition of the book that is required for the course. It is however hard to track it. Though I feel it comes in a considerable amount of time based on my experience given that it was my first time ordering from the BC bookstore online. I thought there we're very cheap prices offer only a few times I saw it cheaper somewhere else. I personally find the book store online useful. I like ito thus far.
ReplyDeleteI usually get the books cheaper from Barnes and Noble or Ebay, due to its easy accessibility.
